marginalpoems is an English-language BaZi knowledge website operated by Freya Guo, based in Shanghai, China, for readers around the world.

When you contact us
When you email us, your correspondence includes your email address and the information you choose to send, such as your name, message, relevant page links and attachments. We use this correspondence to consider and respond to your enquiry, correction, permissions request or privacy request.
Please send only the personal information needed for your request.
Keeping correspondence
We keep ordinary contact correspondence for 6 months after the related matter is resolved, then delete it. This period applies to ordinary correspondence; it does not define retention periods for website logs, analytics records or service-provider backups.
Hosting and website delivery
Hostinger hosts our website and its backups in the United States. We use Cloudflare to help deliver the website.
Website access logs
The hosting service records technical information about requests to this website. The access records available in the hosting dashboard include the request time, IP address, request method and requested URL (including query parameters), device or software information, country, size in bytes and response time. These records are available for reviewing website traffic and performance.
A request can come from a browser, an automated tool or the website’s own background processes. A country label describes the location attributed to the request’s IP address, not necessarily the physical location of an individual reader.
Optional website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand page visits, referral sources, approximate visitor countries, regions and cities, and whether the BaZi Calculator successfully generates a chart. We use these statistics to improve our content and website features.
Analytics is optional. Google Analytics does not load or send analytics requests until you choose Accept analytics. Choosing Reject analytics, or making no choice, leaves analytics off. You can still use the website and Calculator.
After you allow analytics, Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish browser visits and measure usage. We do not use Google Signals, remarketing, advertising personalization or advertising tracking.
Use Analytics settings near the bottom of any page to allow or disable analytics. Disabling stops subsequent analytics collection and removes this site’s Google Analytics identifier cookies from your browser. It does not erase information already sent to Google. We remember only your analytics choice, its version and the time of your choice in browser storage for up to 180 days. This preference is separate from Calculator inputs.
Calculator inputs stay out of analytics
The Calculator processes birth details and chart results in your browser. We do not send birth date, birth time, birthplace, timezone, coordinates, Four Pillars, Day Master or other calculated BaZi results to Google Analytics, and we do not put them in page URLs. A calculator_generate event records only that a chart was successfully generated after you allowed analytics.
Visitor geography comes from Google Analytics’ standard approximate country, region and city reports, not from the birthplace you enter. We do not request GPS access or build a separate visitor IP-location database.

Search statistics
We use Google Search Console to understand how our pages appear in Google Search. This does not load an analytics tag in your browser.
Requests about your information
You can contact hello@marginalpoems.com to ask about personal information you have sent us or request its correction or deletion. Explain what your request concerns without sending unnecessary identification documents.
